Paul Benario is currently a business consultant for Avanade Inc., a joint venture between Microsoft and Accenture. He received the prestigious job title right out of college, and only achieved it through twelve years of hard work and experience.
Benario got his start at Benario Brothers Computing, in 2002. Benario Brothers Computing is a service and repair company for novice computer users. It services most of the Southern Chicago area, and has become South Chicago’s premier computer service and repair company. Benario is currently its owner, and started out as a computer servicer, helping over seventy clients with their computer needs. Benario Brothers specialized in computers, but also helps its clients set up home networks, cell phones, iPods, and really any gadget needing assistance.
Paul Benario went to Bradley University where he majored in Business Management with a specialization in Information Systems. He minored in Leadership Studies, and graduated with a B.S. in 2011. While at Bradley University, Benario learned quite a lot about the business industry and made many network contacts.
He also did an internship at the Kellogg Company. While at the Kellogg Company, Benario was recognized for his hard work, becoming head of Kellogg’s Internship program, managing over twelve other interns. Benario has nothing but good things to say about his time at the Kellogg Company. The internship provided Benario with firsthand experience in the business world, and allowed him to learn the ropes of business consultancy that he would later use at Avanade. The ins and outs of the business world can be very confusing, and first-hand experience is really the only way to fully understand the various checks and balances one has to abide by. This first-hand experience, according the Paul Benario, is incredibly different that the classroom experience, and allowed him to fully understand which aspect of the business world was the best fit for him. The internship also allowed him to meet and socialize with other interns creating lasting connections and friendships, and also incredible networking opportunities.
Paul Benario is currently working with a collaborative division on the newest version of SharePoint. He specializes in going between management and the software developers. Benario elicits, analyzes, documents and communicates any needs from management to the technical team. A main focus is getting it to work with mobile devices, which required abandoning SharePoint’s use of the program Silverlight and transferring it to HTML-5. Developers are also working on a new and easy way to view PDFs in the program.
