Politics and My; What Can We do?
After speaking to regular voters, new registered voters and those delicately participating something has been created clear. We are sick and tired with the antics, we are tired of self-serving elected officials, and we are tired of the actual stalemates and business not taken care of. Many merely don’t want to get involved and don’t think it makes a positive change. But the truth is contrary to that will. It won’t change until we send the LOUD clear concept.
Residen tafter resident have discussed specific behaviors, using of course Rod Blagojevich due to being on the top of the list and also the many that knew nevertheless stood silently by simply and did nothing to avoid the insanity involving his governorship. The write-ups on serious problems are more than I can count and some could possibly be fables, just to share a couple of:
An elected standard admitting at a community meeting that they lied during their campaign knowning that it was “Okay” to lay when trying to get chosen.
Working a second task during the same instances they are supposed to be working and collecting shell out as an elected as well as appointed official.
Elected official touting that they were dedicated to making government entities smaller while at the same occasion they created opportunities for friends and also campaign supporters at a cost (new spending)well over $70,000 a year to be able to taxpayers.
Elected official claiming to run a business office that was transparent but making it more difficult regarding tax payers to get data and even denying information requested under the Liberty of Information Act.
Decided officials committing a new felon then wanting to put a measure on it, “It was just a small felon.”
Elected authorities verbally abusing staff and other elected authorities in the presence associated with residents then daring to question why inhabitants don’t think fondly ones.
Elected officials along with candidates threatening citizens with retaliation if they do not let campaign signs being placed on their property.
Giving taxpayers money to be able to organizations then prancing around promoting it if it was their own money they contributed.
Elected officials helping the paid benefits of various other elected officials without the right approval and in some cases flat out illegally. Then of course the elected official that accepts it.
Destroying property owned by the taxpayers without having repercussions whatsoever.
While using the resources of the individuals (i.e. facsimile, phones, copy machines) in promoting their campaign and/or governmental party affiliation.
These are just a few. Yes, just a few and they are some of the very reasons why good folks are not getting involved. Examine them again, lying, cheating, abusing, harmful, destroying.this is not a list through some crime book. The condition in which we find our state, the schools, our nation, our future is disheartening to say the least. All of us good folks intend to make a difference, but self-serving, unethical and bullying elected and appointed administrators make it difficult for several to take the first step into community service, directly into voting, into helping. Nevertheless I’m here to tell you that we Ought to! There is a good chance that we will be overrun using selfishness and mess if we don’t. We are close now, but still have a fighting chance.
